Letters

Dear God, Thank you for being so wonderful and listening to all our prayers. Andrew's granny is recovering quite well from having that stint placed in her heart. Thank you for watching over her and giving her such an amazing attitude towards life.

Dear Andrew, You are kinda the best thing that's ever happened to me and I kinda love you a lot.
As always.

Dear BFF's Alli & Grace, I need girl time ASAP or I am going to stop wearing deoderant and start hauking lugis (sp?) on the reg. I miss you girls.

Dear Jessica, (thaaaaat's ME! *remember the Amanda show?*) Bikini season is coming up. Put down the girl scout cookies and get your butt in shape, pronto.

Dear Blogger, I am not antisipating March 1st, as I do not know if I will still have a stream of all the blogs I follow. Please send an email in these regards and help a girl out. Also, sometimes I get scared that one day the big dogs at work will look at my most visited sites and block you from the server. Make yourself scarce.

Dear Obama, if you are making the gas prices high just to lower them right before the election to make yourself look like a hero- please stop. I will respect you a lot more if you could help out with my bank account year around. So, if this is your plan- cool ya jets. I am totally onto you. If this is not your plan- my bad. Please disregaurd this letter you will never read.

Dear 5pm Friday, please hurry up and get here before I go play in highway traffic.

Dear Blog Friends, I like yall a lot- you're really great since I don't have any real life friends. I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

My Pandora

I always try and see what charms other girls have on their Pandora bracelets when they showcase their 'stacks' so I thought you might want to see mine [up close] and some of my favorites!

A little back story:
Andrew gifted me my pandora bracelet when we first started dating. His three sisters and his mom each have at least one and admittingly so, I felt left out. I wanted one! I never told him this, but low and behold- he got me one all on his own (I can probably thanks the above ladies for that.)! Ever since then he has given me charms for all sorts of occasions. When we did long distance for a year he had a tendency to surprise me with a new charm when he visited. So those were special because they were unexpected and I could look at it when he left and smile. Andrew has given me every charm on this bracelet except for 3. Those three are from his mom and his grandmother (so they are special in their own ways to me!). I love that Andrew takes the time to pick out charms he knows I will love. It shows how much he knows me and even more than that- how much he loves me.

He claims he got me a Pandora bracelet because it gaurantees him at least a few years of easy gift giving- how romantic, am I right? haha but it does take some thought- and so far, he has impressed me!

These each have a unique story behind them and I would love to tell you about each and every one of them but I hardly doubt you are all that interested so I will just tell you about a few.

This is my most recent charm. Andrew got me this one last week for Valentines Day. It is the 'forever' charm. Although he claims the lady "said it was Valentinesy and called it the forever charm" so he got it- I still love it and I love the meaning behind it and the fact he chose it.

Andrew got me this charm when I graduated from college. It is special to me because he went through that huge mild stone in my life with me and to have him there by myself when I received my diploma meant so much. I will always have this charm to remember not only that day, but my accomplishments leading up to that day.

These three were all together so I snapped them as so.
From top to bottom-
The elephant: honestly, I love this one because elephants are my favorite animals and Andrew knows me well enough to know that and found this cute little charm because he knew I would love it- and I do!
The claddagh charm: I went to Ireland last year and absolutely loved it. I got a calladgh ring while I was there that I never take off. Andrew found this unique claddagh charm and surprised me out of no where with it. This was probably the most special and thoughtful one I have and I will never forget the butterflies I had when opening it.
The blue vines: Andrew got me this charm when we didn't win the Reeds Diamond Dash. I wasn't too bummed, because we had SO much fun during the scavenger hunt, but it was nice to get a little something. He is the sweetest.

On Valentines Day I joked with him asking, "Let me guess, you got me another charm?" It sounded so snotty but I really didn't mean it that way. In a way, knowing you are getting a charm takes away the element of surprise, but his are always unique and meaningful so each and every one makes me feel special because I know he especially picked it out for me!

Do you have a pandora bracelet? What are your favorites?

Biltmore Mini Vacay

This past weekend Andrew and I went to Asheville, North Carolina. We spent all day Saturday at the Biltmore Estate and Biltmore's Antler Hill Village. Without boring you with too much history, it is imperative that you know that the Biltmore Estate is the countries largest privately owned residence. The estate itself has 250 rooms (two being a bowling alley and indoor swimming pool, which was unheard of at the time) while the grounds include 75 acres of gardens, a winery, and an inn.

Upon arriving to the Biltmore Estate we were given headphones and a little device that we used in each room to hear the history and neat little facts. The day was full of history, which we loved. Call us dorks if you wish, but we both agreed that we could spend a whole other day there and still not soak in enough info.  We weren't allowed to take pictures inside the house *laaaaame* which totally sucked because I really wanted to take pictures of the magnificent two story library. It was beautiful.

I was able to take some pictures of the outside of the house and the view from one of their many balconies. Unfortunately, these pictures hardly do the house any justice, as you can only capture so much beauty in photograph. I would definitely recommend you making the visit if given the chance.

Ohhh.. but before I show you the Biltmore.. I must show you the McDonalds beside it.
(..yes, I realize how weird that sounds. In time you will understand..)

Apparently this is one of the top 10 McDonalds in the world, which is saying a lot considering I hear their are some pretty freakin' sweet ones in other counties.

The Outside of Mickey D's

It had a gas burning fireplace..

This was the ceiling

This piano was in the corner and played on it's own.. keys went down with the notes and everything..
I can't make this up y'all.. this was INSIDE McDonalds. I enjoyed a cheeseburger and some fries while listening to a grand piano at the local McD's.. and took numerous pictures.. whilst getting very strange looks. Don't you sometimes just want to wear a tshirt that says 'I'm a blogger, excuse the flash." I do.

Some scenery from the Biltmore Estate:

The Biltmore
[if you look closely, you can see all the black chairs in front. They were setting up for a wedding. Hello *big bucks*! All the wedding goers were in fur coats and tuxedos.

*LOVE THIS BOY*

After we toured the house, we drove to another part of the grounds, Antler Hill Village. This is where the winery is. It is so beautiful around there. The sun was going down and it was pretty freezing so I didn't take many pictures but I did take a few inside the winery.

Neither of us are big wine drinkers (insert *gasp* here!) we just don't like the taste very much and it makes me sweeeepy, so instead we had a champagne tasting. I love love love champagne. I think we should drink it all the time- every new day is a celebration! So we each had 3 different kinds. Some we liked and some we could live without. I particularly liked a specialty pink bottle (imagine that!).

We had so much fun together and both agreed we need to go back very soon. I love taking little vacations with him and making memories we will cherish forever.

It's FRIDAY, FRIDAY! Gotta get down on Friday!

Ohhh curse you Rebecca Black for finding your way into my head every single Friday.

I could not be more thrilled for a Friday to come along as this has been the busiest week anddd Andrew and I are going to Asheville tomorrow! This little mini vacay came just in the knick of time. I have been down in the dumps lately and in desperate need of a relaxing weekend with my favorite boy.

Casual Friday Outfit:
Shoes: Tar-jay, my favorite French boutique
(also known as Target to all you commoners)
Jeans: American Eagle
Scarf: Also Tar-jay
Jacket: 2 years old and not the slightest clue

Also- yes, it is 6am and I have not done my make up yet- thanks for noticing.

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday! Here's hoping it zooms us right by (until 5pm, that is!).
I will be back next week with weekend re-caps and [probably] a great big weekend photo dump!

Valentines Day 2012

I celebrated the majority of my Valentines Day completely miserable..
Basically- I deliver the mail, set up the catered lunches, and then clean them up.
AKA- I spent 8am-5pm on VDay serving people delicious food when I didn't even have time for a lunch break and delivering people beautiful flowers and chocolate dipped strawberries while running over my toes with the mail cart.
Call me a Negative Nancy if you want, but working here caused me to want to take my all time favorite holiday and put it in a blender, on high, and then pour it down the drain.

No worries though- that all changed when 5pm rolled around
I ran home, showered off all the negativity, put on my reddest shirt and chugged a cup of coffee. Then the wonderfulness that is Valentines Day began- there was a knock on the door and there stood my handsome boyfriend with pink roses in hand.

We had plans to eat dinner and then go to see Safe House. We saw The Vow on Friday so it was his turn to pick the movie and in all honesty, I was looking forward to seeing Safe House as well. Well, all the restaurants had around 1.5 hour wait soo.. we did like any young southern couple would do.. we went to the local Golden Corral. haha Now, Andrew felt so so bad. He kept saying, 'I promise we can go somewhere nice later this week' and 'If you blog about this, please tell them another Andrew took you here and you were just cheating on me or something.' haha I seriously LOVED it though. There was no long lines, the best and largest all you can eat buffet and they have a chocolate fondu fountain. My first plate was full of Thanksgiving like meal items, my second was a nice salad and spegetti and then I had an array of dessert. It was perfect. I even brought up that maybe we should make that a tradition. Who wants to wait in the cold for an overpriced dinner on Valentines Day anyways? Not this girl. I'd rather spend it piggin out with my honey at an all you can eat buffet.
#fattyalert

As far as the movie went- it was amazing. I really did enjoy it and let's face it- Denzel is the bomb-dot-com at acting. I was a bit skeptical how Ryan Reynolds would do in this serious of a role but he aced it. It was a good movie- good plot, good ending, just all around good. I recommend it!

As far as gifts go- Andrew and I are going to Asheville, NC on Saturday morning for the night. We are going to the Biltmore Estate, going out to a nice dinner, and being total tourists. We did flowers & cards last night but I have a couple little surprises for Andrew this weekend. I love buying him gifts- I think I get more excited about giving them than he does receiving them!
P.S. I hate snow, I mean hate it. Icey, wet, cold.. what's to like unless your beside a warm fire watching it from your cozy house. But I secretly hope it snows this weekend.. mainly for pictures sake.
So romantic :)

The Biltmore Estate

How was your Valentines Day? I hope it was spent with those you love.
Afterall, the greatest gift is loving and being loved back in return.

Speaking of which- my sweet, sweet Mama gave me a darling Valentines card! I just love her to peices. No matter how old I get, she still gets me a little something for Valentines, Easter, etc. and it literally warms my heart. I don't think she even knows how much I look forward to it!

Mama's Surprise 50th!

Today just so happens to be my sweet mama's 50th birthday [HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!].
Well, for the past month my sister, step dad, and I have been planning her a surprise party. We surprised her with a spa day in Las Vegas last Monday so she had no idea we had anything else in store until this past Saturday night.

My step dad, Jim, took her out for a romantic dinner while my sister, Andrew, and I set up for the party.
Side note: I had to throw all the decorations out my window before hand because she wouldn't get out of the living room!
We invited around 25 of her closest friends and family to celebrate her big day. We had the party in a private room at a local bar called Beantown Tavern
When she walked in she was so surprised. I was scared she was going to kill me, claiming she hates surprise parties, but she ending up bursting into tears and enjoying every single second of her night! Words can't do the night justice, so I will just leave you with some of the pictures. I took nearly 200 pictures but I will spare you a little bit.

My Love :)

My mom is so very blessed to have such amazing friends & family that came out and made her night so special. I love her more than anything in this world and I hope she had the best birthday she could have ever dreamed of having. If you read this and you were there, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for filling all of our hearts with so much love and joy. There were tears, hugs, and so many laughs. Pictures can only show so much, but it was such a beautiful and amazing night.

Cheers to you Mama, you truly are fabulous at 50!
