I have been having an internal debate with myself for months now:
Kindle vs. Books
Being a big reader- I'm talking when I have the time I will finish a 300 page novel in a day- I have bought SO many books. Books can be pretty pricey, especially the new ones, so I was definitely looking for a cheaper way to read- while still being able to keep the books as long as I want. I love the idea of a library and I wish I utilized them more often, but waiting for a certain book to get in is torture.
For a while, I decided that there was no way I could trade my old fashioned books in for an electronic version. I would miss seeing them on my shelves, I would miss the smell of them, and I would miss waking up on them stained with a little puddle of drool (TMI?).
But, after a lot of thought, I have decided a Kindle is the way to go. My books are piling up and I am running out of room. Plus, it could fit nicely in my bag and I can buy a book with a single click. I reeeally like that. The other thing is, the new Kindle Fire has so much awesomeness about it. Yes, awesomeness, and I call myself an intelligent and educated reader. The Kindle Fire has the internet, hundreds of apps, a colored screen, downloadable movies and music, among many things I am not even aware of yet!
Sounds like awesomeness to me!
So, I decided to ask Andrew for a Kindle Fire for Christmas and I have decided that I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I can't wait to carry that sucker around in my purse and whip it out whenever I get a spare second to catch up on some reading and surf the web.
I have even made a board on Pinterest to keep track of what books I want to add to it ASAP!
While I will definitely miss my old fashioned page turners, it is time for me to enter 2012 with a tablet. The fact that I can download books with a single click and easily carry them around with me is a huge perk. You know what would be a great invention though? Some people buy fake Christmas trees but pair it with a pine candle to give the illusion that it is real... somebody needs to make a Kindle attachment that smells like a book. Just sayin'.
So, yes, I am completely stoked about the Kindle Fire and there is no looking back at this point.
Uh oh, if Andrew doesn't end up getting me the Fire, then bye bye next pay check because now I am completely convinced I not only want, but need, the Kindle Fire.
Don't judge me.
