Attention Blog Readers: I am indeed still alive. Believe it or not.
Here's what I've been up to..
So, I woke up Wednesday morning with what I am going to refer to as a disgusting flu like sickness. The reason I have to refer to it as that is because I drove my weak, exhausted, very sick self all the way to urgent care to get some legit meds and the lovely lady behind the desk wouldn't take my perfectly good insurance card. Why, you may ask? I couldn't tell you. All I heard in my state of mind was, "blah blah blah 5,000 dollar payment blah blah blah." This girl got back in her car, drove to target and bought everything on the right side of the colds meds isle.
and an entire bottle of Nyquil later I was finally starting to feel better. Thank goodness because it was right in time-my bestie drove up from Raleigh on Sunday to visit for the 4th of July! :) We went to the pool on Sunday and on of my roomies pulled an under water camera out of no where. We were thrilled and took full advantage of that childhood staple. Why in the world don't we have buy those anymore!? The excitement of getting them developed and having actual pictures in our hands was quite nostalgic as well!
Loved it! :)
After the pool we went to Wal-Mart for snacks and some patriotic attire to wear the next day for the 4th! Let me tell you- I have no idea why I don't make that my go-to store more often. I bought a blue & white striped bikini there (pictured below) for only $20! Anyways- after Wal-Mart we just sat around the house trying to find ways to entertain ourselves since we had to wake up at the crack of dawn to go to MASONBORO ISLAND for the 4th!
How KjG and I entertained ourselves before bed time. We stumbled across some fake blood from Halloween 2010 and I channeled my inner Bret Michaels.
If you are from Wilmington, NC then you know all about Masonboro Island. It one of the top places in the country to be on July 4th. You see, Wrightsville Beach has a no drinking law on the beach so all the college students jump on boats, water taxis, row boats, whatever they can find and make the mile or so trek to Masonboro- a completely deserted island to celebrate. It was so much fun, probably too much fun, but I was just happy I got to spend the 4th of July on Masonboro with my best friends before I have to move back to Charlotte in a month. So bittersweet.
All us girls and our friend Arya
Please excuse our overly patriotic/redneck attire and patrooding stomachs. After a day on the island you really just give up on looking adorable.
So that was my weekend. Now, I'm back at my internship, job searching in Charlotte, and trying to spend as much time with my girls as possible!
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July with your friends and/or family!
