-Rainy Day Romance

I woke up so happy this morning because I could hear the rain pattering against my bedroom window. I am working from home today since coughing up your lungs in the middle of a quiet office is not only embarassing, but people look at you like you have the plague. In their defense, I totally don't blame them.. my cough is pretty freaking disgusting. Anyways, I was looking forward to cuddling with my laptop all day while watching the rain fall. Unfortunately- It just stopped. My luck.

There are a couple songs I think of when I'm feeling lazy and it's raining outside, but I always think of a song I have thought of as my all time favorite song for as long as I can remember, 'I'll Be' by Edwin McCain.

And rain falls angry on the tin roof
As we lie awake in my bed.
You're my survival, you're my living proof.
My love is alive -- not dead.
Tell me that we belong together.
Dress it up with the trappings of love.
I'll be captivated,
I'll hang from your lips,
Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above

Without getting totally sappy on y'all, I have to admit.. I haven't seen Andrew in over 2 weeks (for those who don't know we have been living over 3 hours away for the past year.. until July 31!) and I'm starting to miss him a lot, especially on those rainy days when you just want to snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie. And yes, maybe I did want to sit inside and feel sorry for myself while I watched it rain today.

There is something that is so romantic about the rain... and about black and white pictures..

Keeping my fingers crossed that it starts raining again before the weekend starts!
