Fashion Suicide

We have all fallen victim to one (or possibly all) of the terrible fashion crazes that have happened in our lifetime. Well ladies, another one is among us. Please join me in boycotting this particular trend so it can die before it even gets started good.

Lo & Behold:
The Sparkle Uggs

They also come in the all so fashionable red & purple sparkle.

Okay, I get the sparkle TOMs. Those I can tolerate and might even like. But these are basically giant bedroom shoes/snow boots covered in sequins aka one of the tackiest things you can put on your feet. Ladies- don't embarrass your poor feet with these things. They keep you upright all day and deserve much better. If you're age happens to be in the double digits (probably all of you, I'm assuming) do yourself a favor and bypass these next time you see them in stores. You will think me later.

Other fashionable infamous fashion trends we have all followed (or not-lucky you) throughout our lifetime..

CROCS- I have no words for these. They should not be worn in public.
And if yours have fur.. give them to your dog as a play toy and never look back.

Gaucho Pants
As if we aren't critical enough on ourselves already- let's wear pants that add 10-15lbs. I don't care how comfortable they are.. they look ridiculous.

Bleach Splattered Distressed Jeans
These aren't cute- you look trashy. That is all.

The cast of the 'Bad Girls Club' are wearing these for a reason- they too are trashy.
Why draw more attention to your backside by putting words like 'Juicy' & 'Sassy' on it?

Those one size fits all bubble/popcorn looking tops.
YIKES- how was this ever in style?

I am just glad styles come and go as quickly as they do. All we can do is look back and laugh at how ridiculous we have made ourselves look in the past.

What are some fashion trends you fell victim to in your life? Or some you luckily didn't partake in and are glad you didn't?

Disclaimer: These are my opinions. I regretfully have worn some of these things. To each her own; do not get upset with me for bashing on your style. We are all different and this is just my outlook on life, style, and fashion.

  1. Oh my goodness...thankfully - my age is in the double digits : ) However, I know my niece will be screaming how these are to-die-for. I hope she never finds herself in a department store where these are sold. (Who am I kidding, she is my niece)! Love the post!

  7. I wear Uggs, but I would definitely NEVER wear sparkly ones. Also, I live in MN, so I feel Uggs are more of a practical thing for our winters. I can't think of any other fashion offences I've had. I try to stay pretty classic with my wardrobe and wear J Crew most days. The trend I've hated though is metallics and this new neon trend. Definitely not my thing!

    Great post!

  8. Ugh, Uggs. Sparkly or not, they are terrible.

I admit to jumping on the guacho train while in college. And I will admit to occasionally lounging in them. In the privacy of my own home...when my husband isn't there.

I totally had the bubble top in high school. At the time, they only place we could get them was Cache, so it was "expensive" and the only reason my parents bought one is because my sister and I could share it.

  9. I love Uggs, but definitely would never own the sparkly ones. Those are awful! I might still own some stretchy gaucho pants, don't judge me! ;) They're comfortable, but I wouldn NEVER leave the house in them now. Have a great day!

  13. Omg! You're right! I seriously don't understand the appeal of those sparkly Uggs and Crocs! Haha! I do have to admit that I used to be an owner of those Gaucho pants. I look back at old pictures and I have no idea what possessed me to buy them in the first place. Just terrible. Lol.

I'm a new follower and your blog is fun! I just love posts just like this one. =)

  14. I secretly love those UGGS lol.

I have worn things for the sake of fashion- I wore plaid a lot in my teenage years and it came back and I can't bring myself to wear it.
