There are many different venues to host an event. Most opt for the habitual country clubs, banquet halls, and hotel ballrooms. I am not one for normality; I have always wanted to host an event (yes, probably my wedding reception) in a barn. It sounds odd, I know. How in the world do you make a place known for being dirty and smelly, beautiful? And why would you want to, anyways? Call me crazy, (or call me Southern!) but I think barns are beautiful and they make me feel at home. Barns are rustic and with a little bit of creativity and good lighting, I think they can be incredibly romantic. Still not convinced? Here is some proof (and some of my personal inspirations!):
If you still don't see the beauty behind these southern staples then I don't know how else to convince you. I love the idea behind rustic romance. Most of these barns are done entirely with DIY projects created by the bride, her mother, and the wedding party. I think this is a beautiful idea that brings everyone together and puts a very special and personal touch on the entire reception. Needless to say, if you haven't figured it out already, I doubt I am going to be a 'cookie-cutter' bride. (Sorry, Mama & bridesmaids to-be!)
Hope everyone's Monday is going as good as a Monday can get!
